Yeh, but you would most likely be hungry if you didnt have any potatoes.
With regard to the Grand National example:
By picking 2 horses you will have made a practical selection twice, thus you have made 2 choices.
Petes example was :
"You have 1 choice either to buy from them or not." It was then pointed out that it was 2 choices. This is not the case- only 1 choice is possible
