I was wondering, I have been communicating with some Chinese suppliers recently. Considering probably 80% of the worlds goods seem to be manufactured there it is inevitable that people like us who hope to carry out business through importing will be led to China sooner or later. I heard a report the other day they have approx 200 million school children, the future business people, managers, entrepeneurs etc. of this huge country, and all set on cutting a deal apparently to follow the new democratic ways.
Anyway, I have read reports that the filtering system in China, driven largely by the old guard I suspect, the ability to monitor communications is very advanced, although I am not sure how efficient it is these days. Apparently in the earlier days Clinton had suggested that for China to resist the internet is likened to "Nailing Jello to the wall" Haven't tried it, but I get the picture!
So is it relevant today, is there an underlying current of preference not to trade with the western world for instance, lest the Chinese population become tainted with our ways?
Which in honesty I can understand given some of the crap that appears on TV and the incredibly sycophantic and consumerist vision we see of , for instance the "Celebrity" world.

God they are an embarrassment,

I dread to think what other countries think of us. But that is another story, so I will rein it in there.
Any comments?
