WOW... some interesting and conflicting thoughts on this topic.... nothing like a good exchange of ideas and ideals to get a discussion going... so here are mine.
I dont imagine the chinese copy expensive lines to allow poor women to buy what rich women buy I think perhaps they do it to make money so they can [if they wish to] buy the expensive items for themselves. If we all followed this route bill gates would not be as rich as he is and would not be able to retire and dedicate his billions to charity work. [yeh right]
I think ebay [not my favourit word] deserve what they get, and more. If you sell fakes or allow fakes to be sold you run the risk of a good slap from whichever authority you have irritated, be it police, trading standards, C&E or whoever.
If any of you could increase the price of your product and people paid it without question would you drop it again? or raise it again?
The old saying that encapsulates communism is "everyone is equal" but as george orwell indicated "some are more equal that others" . There isnt so much a culture of snobbery as a divide between those who have and the have not's and businesses are built by those who have not because they want to have or at least want to have more.
