I don't agree with this ruling at all. I'm sorry but if Louis Vuitton make a bag and charge £1000 for it but then the Chinese produce an exact copy for £20 that's Louis Vuittons problem. If they charged say around £40 for the Louis Vuitton bag in the first place no one would buy the Chinese fakes. Just another example of manufacturers forcing everyone to pay more for things.

A simplistic idea since the Chinese do not produce exact copy, they produce close copies, but anyone who understands the trade can spot a copy reasonably quickly, mainly due to the quality of the materials used etc.
If Louis Vitton sold a bag for £40 people would not want them, people fail to understand it is the high price tag that people are drawn to, to emulate a lifestyle they are unlikely to ever achieve.
One last point, if Louis Vitton did sell at £40 the Chinese would still sell for less.
Different markets demand different products and mark up. I used to import clothing for NEXT and they thought it hilarious that they sold two near identical tops fo women, the first low priced and high quality for the discerning shopper who knew what they were looking at and buying.
The other, cheaply made with inferior material but priced at double the quality item, yet the expensive TAT outsold the lower priced quality item 10 to one. Go igure.
