Default Shipment seized by customs

I recently imported some video games from HK, and when they were late I phoned Fedex to find out where they were only to find they have been seized by customs. The reason given was that they were counterfeit, which they certainly are not. I then discovered that the supplier had put a silly value on the invoice, almost a tenth of the actual value and customs have taken this to mean the games are counterfeit as they are a recent release. I am kicking myself as I forgot to tell the supplier to put the full value on the shipment as usual.
Does anyone have any experience of a situation like this, and is it worth trying to appeal against the seizure? It wasn't a big order and it is not the end of the world if I lose it, but if anyone knows how I go about trying to reclaim the goods I would be grateful.
