I also stupidly thought paying with Paypal offered protection against this very situation. But Paypal only covers items not received. Didn't realize I had no chargeback rights for item not as described! Just because a site accepts Paypal doesn't mean you are protected against lying scammers. Lesson learned here.
If anybody else has dealt with these scammers, please complain to Paypal so their account can be investigated and shut down.
