Thanks Consultant.
The manufacturer has sent me 4 word docs with photos of tests and Chinese writing as proof (!) Should I ask to see a certificate of some sort? I was expecting some time of official certificate, but after seeing this link:
http://www.cemarking.net/alura_xl_co...FQOuFQodlCTmFA
It says that many companies can self-cert as long as they make sure the product meets the requirements stipulated in the necessary directives. Once these tests are complete, the data or proof must be kept on file. I would then need to issue a 'Declaration of Conformity' on my packaging. This would explain the lack of a posh-looking certificate.
If these test docs are indeed legitimate, can you advise me on whether I have to 'apply' for a CE mark now, or do I just get some CE stickers added or painted onto the bars before sale?
Has anyone had any experience of self-certing a CE mark and keeping their own findings on file?
Thanks
Paul
