how does one tell the difference between a middleman and the actual dropshipper, so what are some tactics and questions i should use or ask to verify if i'm dealing with the actual dropshipper

the reason i ask this question is because nowadays its getting easier for scammers to scam you, its easy to send customers pictures of merchandise they do not own, its easy to generate fake testimonials/business references, its easy to generate fake policies or loopholes within the policies, its easy to just flat out lie and say you warehouse this and that and your product lead time/turn around time is this and that, and last and very important its easy for scammers to lie about their product prices to get/entice newbies into the trap to get their money

i myself have nothing against the middleman, i myself have been looking into/researching the merchandise brokering business (which a broker is a middleman between the supplier and buyer), but i do think its scammful/wrong for a middleman to try to pass his/her self off as the actual supplier
