To be honest it doesn't matter who you are as long as you have the money, and lots of it. There is a lot of work involved just getting the product made and even more getting it to market!

As for aproaching retailers it really depends who it is and how big they are. Independents can be easily be approached. The bigger boys such as Argos will demand so much plus you can not sell direct to them (unless you are Sony, Apple etc) so you go through a distributor that supplies them.

Then you have to pay for catalogue space (yes you pay!) and that's after you have bid against other products/suppliers in that sector to supply them.

Maybe that will be next 'follow up' article when I have some more free time?
