Advise on cheapest + best way to submit URL website to Search engines
Can anyone suggest the cheapest and best way of submitting a website url to major search engines.

probably to have the url on a site that the search engine are already crawling. Like these forums. e.g. link in signiture

Just drop a link into a spidered forum, like this one and let the spiders do their job. Will have much more success than simply submitting and waiting, remember however it will take a while for your site to show in the serps (in particular Google)

There really is little need to submit nowadays. As said above the search engines will find you through a link in a forum etc. Google although not proven do tend to sandbox new websites. This means you may not find your site for a while, usually around 6/9 months. The theory is because new websites are popping up all the time, it wa\nts to know that your site is worth their while. Will you get links, will you update it, is there planty of info etc.....
So if you don't see your site in google for a while don't panic.

That is all so true, we put up our website January 2006 and submitted it to google and the other engines. Only now am I starting to see some hits come of the organic links. At least its getting there.
