all great advice. The only thing is that I would not do reciprocal linking - it used to work well a few years back, but no so much now.

I also like to do SEO and PPC at the same time. If PPC traffic is converting, and you do not have limited inventory, then there is no reason not to make sales at lower and higher margins.

When I start selling a new product, I sometimes sign up affiliate products first until I get enough sales volume. It can be a good alternative to dropshipping, although you do lose the customer forever in most cases. .

Reciprocal Linking has lost its relevance in terms of SEO to some degree however to ignore it as a process for developing a websites traffic is wrong, a super high profile reciprocal link from an authority high traffic site can be simply one of the best sources of traffic for a site. I have a niche website that has simply got 5 back-links and this services over 8000 unique visitors (not hits) a month (although not exceptionally high it suffices) simply because the 5 links (which are all reciprocal ones) are from high profile sites in the niche...

I must say you are correct. It certainly should not be overlooked for delivering targeted traffic. Also, the fact you are sharing links with authority sites also means you are not linking to bad neighbourhoods, and that they are unlikely to be using dangerous tactics.

I just felt it was worth mentioning to people, who are first learning about SEO, that link building refers to building both one way and reciprocal links. I sometimes swap links for seo purposes as well, it is just that I am very selective in the sites I choose to do it with and would never do it with a site that had a partners link page, or who were obviously doing reciprocal linking on any scale.

You only have to look at blogs for example, where it is perfectly natural for the top sites in an industry to regularly link to one another so obviously it is something that cannot be avoided, on some occasions, without a conscious effort.

I therefore retract my statement, and will say you should be very careful when doing reciprocal linking :-)
