I use a friend of mine who has his own hosting company, £10 a year for a domain and hosting account with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage. Has never let me down, and always helps me when I need advice Bargain if you ask me...

I use www.nativespace.com

UK only servers which is a requirement for those wishing to rank in google.co.uk
If thats not a problem then id taking advantage of the USD to GBP and get a far better deal for your money

I can host 11 toplevel domains and unlimited subdomains. cPanel which is by far the best control panel there is IMO which of course uses Fantastico which is a god send for those wishing automatic installations of scripts and 99.9% uptime guarantee.
Customer service that have always answered trouble tickets within 10 minutes which for me speaks volumes and is my first requirement even over storage and bandwidth.

Ive used other services which have always been let downs except lazysheepmedia.co.uk . Brilliant deals and massive bandwidth and storage for the money plus you choose a package and they automatically upgrade you to the next package as a gift. There only let down is you cant host more than one domain per package which for me is a shame as i have at least 7 domains.

As for others, stay away from 1and1.co.uk they are terrible, worst customer service ive experienced since Bulldog and believe me they take the biscuit. 3rd party templates dont work on there server either leaving you with a choice of 20+ rubbish looking templates.
www.ukhost4u.co.uk offer a very attractive package but reading reviews from people using them on another forum i frequent is that the are best avoided and to think i nearly joined up, close call.

Ive used a good few, always getting the best deal and i have to say that my current one ticks all the boxes with regards what i want from a hosting provider plus its a monthly rolling contract so no tie-ins.

Check this site out www.OChostreview.co.uk
It contains alot of webhosts with reviews from existing customers.

Chris

Yes, they are great for domains. But their hosting is expensive and their stores are terrible. I urge all of my customers to use them for registering a domain, but to avoid all the other stuff they offer with every click.

I wouldn't agree entirely with that. I think some of the focus is on TLD rather than where the server is located. A prime example are these forums, our server is in the US and we rank 1 and 2 for all our main keywords.

GoDaddy are great for domains, 123Reg are average but getting a little better for domains too.
