Post To bulid a website for business man between China

Hi Guys

I am planning to build a site for myself. But I have no any idea about that site.I don't know which kind site I should build. In my plan that site should like how to do business with Chinese or something . But I thought if I got a lot question about this site. May be I should ask the people who are in our forum.

I am planing to introduce China every province to you all and introduce my product and I also can supply some help if I have enough time. All that will be free. What do you think?

your suggestion will be very costful to me.

If you are going to have goods for sale and take money from the site via online credit/debit card transactions, your best bet is a shopping cart site. There are literally hundreds to choose from. The most often quoted on this forum are CubeCart, Zen Cart and osCommerce.

If you are going to offer advice, articles and know-how, a more standard site will do you very well. If you want the main language for your site to be English or a language using standard Western alphabets, I suggest you take a look at Open Source Web Design, pick out a template and ask a designer to build you something based on that, or do it yourself. You will need to know HTML and CSS as a minimum. There are over 2,000 templates there, so be prepared to spend some time if you don't see the right one immediately.

You can add in features such as mailing list manager, bulletin board, blog, wiki to either kind of site. CMS (content management system) is built in to most shopping cart packages. For the more standard site, you can start of with something like Joomla or Mambo to make your changes and updates easily manageable.

You would do well to partner with someone with better English language skills. There are a number of University students here, from both the UK and Australia who might enjoy (or even get credit for) a project of this type.

You could supply the information and they could put it in a form that would make it much more acceptable to English speakers.

anotheruser has a good suggestion with Joomla or Mambo. The actual site design, or template, should not be a major concern. If you can provide useful information you will draw visitors who will pay little attention to the border around your content.

You could also produce some income by devoting space to Google Adsense links.

To be honest, if I had a spare year laying around I'd like to take on the project myself, but it does not sound like something that will come together quickly.

One main thing you must be careful about - You should verify all of the information you provide. Without going into the politics of the situation, many people worldwide suspect dealings with the Chinese. Nothing personal in this, it's just the way things are.

For your site to succeed you would have to make sure the information and sources you are offering are honest and reliable.

I will to make this web site to be a free web site. Any one can leave a message to me, and the message will send to my E-mail or the backsite of that web site.

But I just know a little about HTML and CSS. No I don't know CSS, I just know a little HTML. I have seen the website which you have send to me. It's wondful , I will take a look at it carefully.

Yes, I need a really good partner who have a good patience and we could do that site together. If you have enough time I will be very glad you could be my partner.

but what is Joomla or Mambo.
