Smile zen cart

being mega thick - need help! have downloaded (saved and 'run') zen cart.... now what?!

For some reason I thought I'd be answering on-line questions and hey presto! my shopping cart would be built.

I have all these save files and no clue what to do with them.

any help would be great... speak slowly for slowmo!

If your hosting company offers cPanel and Fantastico you can automatically load zen through Fantastico. Couple of clicks and it's done.

If they don't offer that, there will be a "read me" or "installation" text file in what you downloaded that will step you through it.

You can also go to the zen forum and find all sorts of help there.

Or, you can host with me and I'll install it for you free.

You may even have some kind souls here on the forum tell you how, but reading the text files with the download are about as good as you're going to get.

Unless someone volunteers to do it for you....

Pete's right. Unzip or untar the downloaded bundle - as you're in the UK get the UK mod bundle, too and load them at the same time. But look in the untarred folder first. There is a directory/folder called in there called docs. Inside there are some .html files, including 0.about_zen_cart.html and 1.installation.html - open each in a browser and have a read through before you do anything else. You could look through a couple of the others, too, but you don't have to at this stage.

You can get the UK module, so default language becomes English English instead of American English, currency ŁUK, weight kg and so forth, here: Mutual Advantage and there is tons of help and assistance on the Zen Cart forums, to which I am an occasional visitor, helping sometimes and asking questions at others.

But then, as Pete says, you could get him to do the installation part for you.

You've got to host it somewhere. It won't run off you PC.

Well, I just don't know. I install sometimes 2 or 3 carts a day, but maybe I need to go up on my prices.
