Hey guys been not so active recently as my gran just passed away

I help run a forum for Pro evo soccer forum and we have 900 members and have been getting alot of members from google etc in the last few weeks,

Just wondering how exactly SEO works and how costly it would be and also who could do it,

Would like to know if there is any tips for getting higher on google rather than link exchange stuff etc

Also does having the forum name as in "www.thewholesaleforums.co.uk" instead of "The Wholesale Forums" at the top left hand corner of your browser help in any way at all ?

Any hints or tips from you guys (The experts) that you could pass on would be greatly appreciated

Good to see you back, James. Sorry about your gran.

You need lessons fromAnthony. Look at what he's done with this forum.

You'll find a lot of Ford/Chrysler/GM/Toyota with SEO. Everyone thinks they have the key. Here's a good a guide as you'll get, without getting into some "courses". A good checklist -

James, you need to target keywords. That way when people search for a keyword they find your website. A prime example would be 'Wholesale Forums', if you search this in most of the search engines you will see that we rank either first or in the top 5. This is one of our main keywords. Perhaps one of yours would be 'Pro Evo Forum' or whatever that might be.

SEO isn't a quick and easy process, it does require a lot of reading and phyiscal doing before you see some results. I could recommend sites all day long that serve as a good reading base for seo topics but go ahead and search it in Google and find some sites that are easy for you to understand.
