Default what to look for from a Whois search?

hi there i have a Whois search engine, after typing in the site domain i get a list of info but i dont know what im looking for to prove the site is ok?
can someone get me some pointers to look for?

The whois search provides you with the registrant information for that domain name. Unless you have something to cross reference it with, other than finding out who legally registered the domain, it doesn't really prove whether a site is legitimate or not.

Always handy to have as much ammunition as possible to decide whether someone is legit or not. If there are any doubts in your head, walk away - plenty of other fish in the sea.

Yes, the Whois information will not provide you with sufficient information to make that kind of judgement. It could potentially tell you when the website was registered, the person who registered the site, address (that is if the whois information is not made private) .....But this does not say anthing about the company history, status etc
