Default How to get better ranking

It's not that tough to impress the search engine spiders to get a high ranking
The most important four steps are
Get the right words on your site
Get links from other related site
Use right words in those links
Have excellent content and keep updating your site

Well you can start off with this....

Then have some new company come along and copy your content, keywords, backlinks long enough to get where you are before they change it for original content.

It wouldn't be that easy to copy back links, would it?

Yes m8, copying backlinks is perhaps the easiest part of copycat seo to do, there are many programs that give you all the exact backlinks.

The issue isn't simply copying backlinks, copying useless backlinks of little value is easy (hence these tools) whereas getting the ones of value is teh hard part (those that are governed by a webmasters approval for an authority site etc, try getting a edu link by using these tools for a limited value site).

If it really was a case of "copying" everything then the serps as we know would be pointless, hence why filters and controls are placed. Sure things can be copied but intrinsic link value simply cannot.

You are quite right, getting valued links is the hard part for any online shop, but I still believe copying links is easy, sure if your site is of low value they may not link to it, but if you have targeted a high ranking website, you will not be producing a low value website.

The serps in my humble opinion can be played with, depending on how well you know your seo. I took a website to the top of its keyword in under two weeks of me working on it. In 1 week it was sitting at third place in G. It has no or few back links, the top ranking website has many keyword title links including DMOZ. I do not pretend to understand the SE or serps, nor to be a guru or an SEO expert, I just know what I have learnt by trial and error, but G especially changes daily on what it ranks as relevant or not and is, in my humble opinion, a nightmare to out think.

Seo spy glass is I think a back link tool worth its weight in gold, well was, until G decided to decommission links from directories, link pages, reciprocal links, etc etc
