Default Sorting out a template.

I was thinking about buying a template from template monster.

Is it easy to load on your site?

I was told that its really hard as they give it to you with no pictures in it and then you have to modify it in photoshop/fireworks and usually dreamweaver or another coding package.

This is what the guy said:

Matt when you buy templates for sites such as template monster they often make the job as difficult as possible and the reason behind this is because of the software and techinques they use to produce the site.. they will include the pages in often php or html form but the site will not match the images (psd) images they show on the site the moment you unzip it
it will require a reasonable amount of editing with most of the software they list onsite

This true? I am crap with websites, but could a newb like me be able to handle this? or should I pay him £50 to do it as he requested.

Any help on how I could do this the easiest and cheapest way would be great

Thanks
Matt

i have a website being designed for me from getafreelancer and its a painful slow process so far, my advice would be look for the template you like then email the hosting company you are going to join as chances are they will upload it for you for free dont let them mug you off for £50.

I have used Template Monster for couple of times and I can say only the best things about them.

Sure, if you're not familiar with coding most likely you'll need a help BUT it doesn't cost £50. My programmer would do it for $20 max.

Cheers for the replys,

When I have uploaded them will they look like what they do on template monster preview? Or will I have to personalize it?

Basically, I want to buy the template, tell my hoster to upload it (which should be simple right?) and then easily change the logo and then change products in the zencart options.

Is it that easy?

I don't know how easy it is with zencart but as I said - if you are without coding experience, you can always hire a freelancer for $10-$20 off DigitalPoint.

Cheers for the link!

What type of programming do they have to do so I can narrow down my research?

Just look for a person who are familiar with zencart installation & customization. There are coders out there who work mainly with shopping carts.

OS Commerce and ZenCart Templates are very easy to install, I play around with these two allot and its quite easy. There are also a number of free templates available for OS Commerce and for ZenCart, here's two links to some templates below

13 OS Commerce Templates:- http://garcya.us/blog/13-free-oscommerce-templates

77 Zen Cart Templates:- http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...ex&cPath=40_53

also, 'Mathmos' are you looking for general HTML web templates or OS Commerce and Zen Cart Templates? as in this thread a mixture of both has been talked about.
