Hi

Firstly, the site looks great Tweeders, well done!

Re: the limit of products on Clickbank. Just to clarify, you can sell a maximum of 50 products through a Clickbank account, however this only applies if you are actually doing the selling - ie, customers are paying you and downloading from your site.

As far as I can tell, the majority (if not all) of the links to ebooks on your site are affiliate links, which means that you are simply referring customers to someone elses site and then they deal with the payment/delivery aspect of things. If this is the case, then you can sell as many products as you like - there is no restriction on affiliate links - if you want to offer the entire Clickbank catalogue then thats fine

Also, in respect of the 'thank you' pages, again, this is only relevant if you are doing the actual 'selling'. You don't need to worry about this as the websites that you are linking to will have their own thank you pages. (A thank-you page is basically the download page that Clickbank send the customer back to after their payment has been processed).

One thing that I would recommend you consider buying at some point is a product which I think I have mentioned before - Affiliate Link Cloaker, as this allows you to get rid of the Clickbank hoplink type links and use something like the following instead:

http://www.thetraderonline.com/alc.html

It looks a bit more professional and it isn't nearly as obvious that the link is an affiliate link and will help you in the fight against stolen commissions

Hope that clarifies things.

Best regards

Richard

Regarding Affiliate Links to Clickbank products...

Can I copy a picture of a book cover and/ or the description from a sales page/sales letter on Click bank to use as my affiliate link on my site, or is it a case of contacting each individual seller and asking their permission ?

Iwas just wondering

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark

It is generally accepted that affiliates may use graphics or sales copy from the site that they are linking to - after all, it is of benefit to the main seller.

In addition, many sellers will provide specific graphics or banners for their affiliates to use.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Richard's already covered the affiliate stuff so I won't put anymore on that.

Tweeders your site looks good.

You've included a few products that i've had on the back-burner for a while.

I'll be interested to see how you do. I don't seem to have the time to kick-off most of my back-burner projects at the moment.

I've just started a new website from the ground up for one of my main projects at the moment, I've had to put snippets of video so I've been playing around doing some video editing to get a decent size for them.

I've been getting lots of emails about a website html protector (to stop people viewing and stealing your code), has anyone tried this?

Hi Lenny

Re: the HTML encoder/protector - I actually use such a system on a couple of my sites to protect individual Paypal payment pages (to stop people viewing the source code and obtaining the download page before paying). One day I will get around to setting the pages up properly through the IPN system, but it is finding the time!

The encoder software basically works fine, however I wouldnt recommend encoding an entire site as they normally use JavaScript to encode the HTML and I have found that many browsers won't display the encoded pages correctly. Also, if the viewer has Java disabled on their browser, they just get a blank page.

Good idea in theory and useful for a couple of pages as I use it, but not practical for an entire site as too many people won't be able to view the pages correctly.

Cheers

Richard

Thanks for the clarification re. Clickbank, Richard. Mark had me worried for a bit, there! lol

I am definitely going to have the link cloaker, as soon as I can get if from Clickbank. It occurs to me that I could spend an absolute fortune buying things to improve the site, but until the money flow is going in both directions, I'm going to have to restrict myself to things I can't do without. And that is one of them!

I'm hoping to have the site finished and ready to go in the next few days, although I have some 'real life' activities to deal with this week so may not be able to do it as soon as I'd like. I'll let you know how I get on, and probably pester you with marketing questions.

Thanks for your kind words, Richard & Lenny! You guys have helped me loads, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without you.
