I've searched and found a few adsense tracking scripts, but i'm unsure whether they are worthwhile or if they are within google's t&c's. Does anyone track their adsense clicks and if so can you recommend a script to use. I would like to be able to find out which ad block and on which pages the ads were clicked and I guess anything else is a bonus.

Thanks for any recommendations.

I track where my clicks are coming from by creating different channels for each ad block - adsense let you do this for free.

I wasn't think about doing this but it wouldn't tell me which page was being clicked on, which would be helpful to know.

Hi,

I use Adsense Tracker. Affiliate Link.

You have to install the scripts onto your server and then insert the relevant code onto each of the websites you wish to track. Then you log into your account and can view the clicks you have received that day, that week, month etc. You can see which pages have the most clicks and then analyse where each click came from. Such as what keywords were searched for and which Ad they clicked on etc. Another cool option is where you can see which Ad formats are being clicked on the most so you can experiment with different formats colours etc and easily see which ones are most effective.

I've never used any other software to do this work so I can't compare it to other pieces of software but I would recommend it.

Paddy

Edit - Just checked the sales page and its pretty big so sorry about that!

I use the same adsense tracker as Paddy.

What i do is once a month go in and collect the lists of keywords that people have clicked on for each site and use that list to compile a new site..

Do you still use that php site builder script that Andy told everyone about Force5?
Or do you just build real content sites from scratch?

I have got x site pro, but I have been trying to intergrate other stuff into it too. I just been trying to get a link directory script into it but it's been driving me nuts.
The problem with it is that when I update the site and publish it local. I can't just use that as a template. I got to change all the links on the pages from /whatever.html to ../whatever.html. I'm hoping that there will end up being a feature to sort that problem out. Or a dedicated link script built in.

I did try directory generator to build sites and yeah they did well. But the problem was that if I wanted to add a link. I would have to go into each page in dreamweaver and add them. Not the most practical way. Also if I ever wanted to add other stuff to it, the links that I would have put in would have been wiped when I recreated the pages with the new templates and I would have to redo them.

I really kick myself when I think about NPB. I should have got it when I had the cash. But i'm learning php at the moment. Well I say learning but really i'm just playing around with it. I will try to get dedicated at learning it once I have changed my old sites around from the generator software to my makeshift x site pro with link script sites.

I had thought that it would be a good idea to learn and build my own site building scripts. As there would be less chance of them getting droped then a comercial built script that has 100s of sites going up every week.

I hope your script works out well

Leslie is the man to talk to about that, I think he is in Spain right now though but have you looked at the Xsite Pro forum?
The forum has lots of helpful people on there.

Don't tell anyone but I still don't know PHP or much HTML.. But I know a Romanian who knows loads and I am now thinking it is cheaper to pay him to do stuff than to give myself a headache trying to work stuff out.

Hope you dont mind me asking but why are you changing them?
the time and effort may be better spent on building totally new sites?
