I'm planning to create a few(around 3) e-commerce websites probably using cubecart etc. to sell goods online.

I'm currently with Hostmonster and my hosting package is due to expire soon and was thinking about becoming a reseller as a complete sideline (not planning on competing here).

Can anyone recommend a good hosting company that offers reselling accounts suited for websites that hope(?) to get reasonable amount of traffic and include Fantastico Script Support, Simplescripts and cPanel.

PS
price is a big factor and so is reliability

You might want to take a look at Heartinternet although no CPanel on the resseler. One click install of Cubecart 3 included etc with loads of free cgi's etc. Very easy to use interface and it also has Host Pay that set's up a complete Host selling shop fully automated for you, just add your payment details etc.

They are also very good for adding shared SSL to cubcart abd it actually working.

I would say Host Gator are OK if don't epect too much traffic.

I had a reseller account with them, got about 7 people on my account and well below my monthly limit, got an email saying that i had to upgrade my account because i was on course to reach my limit - it was 4 days in to my month.

bandwidth on their entry level package is 250GB per month that's roughly 8gb a day - should be plenty for me to get started.

By the way who do you use now uhafmail?

Still undecided and searching...

Yes after 4 days i had only used 12GB but they insisted that i had to upgrade. I instantly closed my account (after making copies of the files and putting them on to a new server). I now host with myself, i have a VPS with Bodhost - who are VERY good. I had to get a VPS because i have a free hosting website and the software doesnt run on resellers accounts. The benefit of having a VPS is that you can sell resellers accounts yourself.

About 50 or so forum members host with me.

I give you unlimited everything. The only thing that has a limit is actual domains. You can get a 6 domain account with Cpanel and Fantastico for $ 9.49 per month. Starts at 2000 MB, but I expand it as needed. No bandwidth limits.

As I said, 50 or so members here host with me. At least half that number us .uk.co and the others are .com. Also some Aussie members use my services.

Personal, nothing automated, and I'll install carts free if you like.

Click my bottom link, or PM me for more info.

You're more than just an account number with me and I'll give you something Hostgator never gave anyone - my undying gratitude.

I have to say Heartinternet.co.uk provide a brillilliant service.

I used to have a reseller website with another company and had planned to move to Heartinternet but I never made enough so closed the site.

And its only £30 a month for unlimited everything.

Cheers guys as usual spot on with advice.

Pete, thank you for the offer, but i've just about found what i'm looking for after much searching. I work in IT (more on project management) so the dabbling in website setup is quite fun, sadly!

It's a toss up between hostgator and theprimehost. Both offer me exactly what i need at this stage of development. When things expand, VPS etc would be the next move.
