Payment on a website!!
Hey all,
I'm creating my own website right now and I got a question on the payment I should accept!!
I may accept payments via Paypal but thats not really the best solution. First, I would need to pay fees for each sale and then also I'm not sure that all the customers would like to pay via Paypal, so it isn't really the best solution.
So I'm looking at some alternatives, and I think the best solution would be to accept payments via Credit Card!! (any other method of payments??)
Unfortunately, I've checked for example Worldpay and it costs £200 to set-up and then £30 each month!!
Thats really expensive!! Does anyone know a company which offer the same service but cheaper or a low fee per transaction??
Thanks
Ludovic

tbh the fees that worldpay charge are good...they operate a secure process and this should far outvalue the actual monetary cost just in piece of mind. Why not just build the transaction fees and monthly subs into the selling price, a $1 an item cannot surely be an issue can it? (ie. make you none competitive)

Protx
Bank of Scotland Merchant account
If you look into both of these companies you will get a good credit card processing deal with very low fees

Obviously no-one wants to pay fees for credit card processing or anything else for that matter, however it's unrealistic to expect any company to provide such a service for free.
Certainly shop around to find the solution that works best for you, but ultimately, so long as you know exactly what are going to be paying when accepting payments it just becomes another business expense in the same way as paying for stock, rent, internet connection, phone bill etc etc.

proxt seems cheapest so far, no set up free, no transaction charge (1000 transactions per quatre), flat rate of £20 a month
