Re: Which is better?
Read what is on this link, it provides advantages and disadvantages.
But to be honest, I would go for a dedicated SSL with a dedicated ip address, gives you maximum protection, but obviously for a higher cost. I would never have a shared SSL, you would have to be stupid to have one.
Thanks, Darren

Re: Which is better?
A dedicated SSL certificate is much better than a shared one. Plus there cheap.

Re: Which is better?
I paid about $400 for my first SSL cert. Time have sure changed.
I agree, if you are going to do it, got the dedicated IP / SSL.

Re: Which is better?
I started off with a shared SSL, it gave warnings on both IE and Firefox saying the ssl did not belong to me and to continue at their own risk as my site may be harmful or hacked and recommending not to continue, when I spoke to my ISP I was told that there was nothing they could do as it was because it was a shared ssl, I obviously removed it rather sharpish!
That should be enough to answer your question.

You will need to purchase a dedicated IP address which can be done through the control panel . PM me if you require any help.
