Recommend software for creating web banners with hyperlinks?

Hi,
I am in the process of having a new website designed.
I want to create some good banners to put on it.
I need some software to create the banners with hyperlinks.
There are a lot of free programmes online to create banners, but most of them don't let you add a hyperlink.
Can anyone recommend any good software?

Creating a banner and making the banner a link are 2 separate things.
You would use photoshop or a similar program to make the banner then write abit of code on your webpage to make it a link.

Photoshop is normally used and a hyperlink is added when you put it on your website.

Would you say it is worth buying Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite Web? Is this easy to use (create banners etc?)

That all depends on what you need making. If you just want one banner, then It's going to be much cheaper to 'hire' a designer to do it.

Photoshop is fairly easy to get used to the basics, however to get as good as most of the designers here on TWF, takes months or even years of practice to learn the techniques and skills.

Your best bet is probably just using a designer, unless you need ALOT of graphic work.
