I have done so much research on it I am becoming a pro at Alibaba scams. I would never buy electonics from China because 99% of them seem to be scammers. I recently wrote an articel about "Some Questions For Alibaba.com."
Hi, there! I don't agree with you, not all the suppliers on alibaba are scammers, you guys are easy to be scammed due to you always want the cheap with good quality, even when the scammers asked pay by T/T(private bank account) or WU, you guys are easy to accept, I have to say there are many real suppliers use the private account of their boss, because their boss are not familiar with trade business or tax evasion, but they would accept establishing business from the small order, if big enough one, they would ask T/T 30% in advance.
If you guy don't want to be scammed, there are some ways to verify the suppliers, firstly, pay by paypal, most suppliers are aware the business credit is very important now, they would try to meet your demand of payment; secondly, pay by company bank account, if a company wants to have a company account in local bank, they must have the company certificate No. and business registration to apply for the bank account, and the name of bank account should be company name, not the private name of boss or someone else. Lastly, If possible, you can check their registration information on the net; and you also can check their website's ICP whether is legal, ect.
I have to say there are lots of scammers on alibaba, but not like 99% as what you said. I remembered a guy who is from Germany wanted me to hunt a supplier for him, and then I found one which is legal in local and it's easy to me for checking, and they have alibaba Gold supplier, when I inform the guy that supplier is from alibaba, the guy was get mad and told me that "I can't trust you, you are scammer!" Besides a forced smile, what can I say?

Well, when a supplier always call you "my friend" and when he only talks via MSN or Skype, that's a scam...

that's a very professional behaviour isn't it?

Hi Djsunny,

It is not easy to judge it by your description..but do not send your money by west union. The best way is meet the suppliers.

They say they're established since 1999, maybe you can check their website on a WHOIS website, if the website is online since a few months it means that this is a scam

But usually, scams are for electronic/mobile phones/comptuer products, which is no the case of your supplier

It's funny! MSN and Skype are the good way to contact the foreign buyers on the net, and they can save more cost and easy to talk to clients in time due to the different accent, as to "my friend", it depends on the sellers which way they prefer, sometimes we would name "Sir" or "lady", if we know and talked to the buyer for a long time, we would like to use "my friend" , but it depends... Of course, if you don't want to be scammed, you should try to call them back by the phone, and choose best and safe payment such as Paypal for the first time, my suggestion is start from the small sample order for long-term relationship. Anyways, it is just my own opinion, what and how to do, it's your choice, whatever....
