Good evening!

I think I really need your help and advise!

It looks like that I got scammed, but I'am not sure yet! The last day's I tried to find a supplier I can trust and thought that I found one, after he offers safe money transfer via www.escrow.com. The problem is that they just accept escrow when I take a MOQ from at least 25 pieces, so I decided just to take one piece because I just start business and I can't afford such a high MOQ as a beginner.

The problem is that they just accept Western Union for small MOQ so I paid via Western Union today. Please notice that I thought I can trust them because they are a registered company in the UK since 1976 and I couldn't find them on any scam lists which are existing!

A few hours ago I received an email from them that they have got the money and that they will ship my item until it get signed from the "Chief executive Officer" and that I will get tracking number etc......! After that email I thought ok they are 99% legit!

but

A few minutes ago I received one more email from them where he said that the shipping costs are too high from UK to Austria for just one piece and that I have to increase the MOQ to four pieces!

After that email I replied that I won't increase the MOQ and that I would take the extra shipping fees after I receive the order and told him that it is his fault and he now must trust me, otherwise I want get my money back!

I hope that this was the right reaction but I have the feeling that I have been
scammed:mad: it looks too much like another scammer-strategy!

Maybe someone could give me some helpful advises, I would really appreciate your help!!!

I will update until I get news and in case of beeing scammed inform you all!

Thanks for reading and sorry for my bad english!

Best regards

megaman

What is the name and address of the company? There are a lot more British people on these forums than any other nationality, so I am sure we can show you how to check them out, maybe even help by doing a little checking ourselves for you.

However, as you so rightly say, you may be asking just a little too late. The first thing t check is, are you absolutely sure they are a UK business and not a foreign criminal gang with a false UK credential? Even if they are criminals, if they are British criminals there may be some chance of tracking them down. If their presence here is fake, there will be little anyone can do to help.

Thanks for your really quick reply and help!

The company website is http://www.henrys.co.uk/electronics.htm and I found them

here http://henr22.en.ec21.com/company_info.jsp

The adress is identical and I think that he is a UK seller because of his ability of speech, which is different from China suppliers!

Thanks again!

The company's contact details are all there on the web site. The address, by the way, is in the part of London where electronics businesses have started since the 1960s when the areas was run down so renting a shop with storage space was cheap.

Many have prospered and moved on to bigger, better things, some have a shop there still, because many visitors look to Tottenham Court Road and Edgeware Road areas for quality electronics goods at low prices. The address they have registered address at Companies House is just a short walk from there, probably their accountants premises, is at
Name & Registered Office:
HENRY'S ELECTRONICS LIMITED
66 WIGMORE STREET
LONDON
W1U 2SB

The web site is registered at the trading address, 484 Edgware Road and has been in existence since pre-1996.

megaman, everything about this company checks out as solid and sound. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Your payment will, I believe, be honoured. The company registered number,by the way, is written in bold and when I tried to continue typing beneath it, this stupid BB wouldn't let me switch the bold off, so it's the last thing on this post.

Thanks again you helped me a lot !

I just can't understand why it is a problem for them to send me one sample?
Furthermore he should have told me before that the price will change!
They want that I increase the MOQ at least to 4 pieces. I can't help but I'am still highly sceptical.

I told them they should send me this one sample and I will take the extra shipping costs, so if they are legit it shouldn't be a problem for them or what do you think?

Thanks in advance!

International payments are always tricky and expensive, megaman. For small amounts, they are often not worth it.

If you go on to do a lot of business with them, and as they get to know you, they will probably become very helpful and friendly. Just now, they do not know you. They will get hundreds of enquiries every year from individuals pretending to be traders who want to buy one or two items, and expect the supplier to pay the transaction costs, which really hit their profits. How can they tell which ones are serious?

yeah I totally agree with your opinion but I can't see the problem when I'm ready to pay the extra shipping charges as I told them? --> no profit loss for the company!

I know henry's, I have shopped in their Edgware Road store from when I was a kid! However are you sure this company you have dealt with have not just stolen their identity? I used to also work in Church Street market when I was 11 which is 100 yards from both their original store and their current one.

Guy's use your noodle, Henry's would except credit cards for payment not WU. They would also NOT make a mistake on the shipping. They would also not require the CEO to authorise a mail order transaction. This is common sense.

Can you post the details of the WU payment? This has the hallmarks of a typical scam and a typical Company ID theft.

Hi greedyboy!

I also think that their identity could have been stolen!

Here are the WU details:

Receiver's Name ....Daniel Pasc
Address....66 Wigmore Street,London.
City.......London
Zip code...W1U 2SB
Country.....United Kingdom

Beside I just received an email from him:

Hello Christian
i aplogized for the inconveniences the management or i most have cause you, honestly i have exausted all my effort to make my CEO signed the released of the order but he did not, Please you just have to increase your order to 4units and i can assure your order will be shiped and delivered within 48hours without any delay.

So you will have to pay for 3 units to complete your order, sorry once again for the inconvenience as we wait your response with payment details.

You are being scammed! Tell them you are a private investigator working on behalf of Henry's and you are handing over all the documentation, IP addresses etc to the Serious Fraud Squad.

Unfortunately you have lost your money.
