Yes ish - If they xray the package (and within the current world situation there is a good chance that will happen) they might decide to "Have a Chat" If I was you I would look into Canada Customs Laws for Inport, and as long as you are ok, then give them a ring and warn them off. It never hurts to let them know what you have ordered, that it is on its way, and what it is for!

9K samples?
With all the traffic from the US those people are probably more wise to samples and gifts than any customs service in the world.

Yeah, actually it really is a sample of a much bigger order i will pass later on. Its a reasonably large sample of a very costly herbal extract. If its a scam, its 9K lost, but it could have been much worst had it been the entire order.

great idea. I imported a few extracts before and didn't have problems with the customs, but i agree its a good idea to call them, just in case. thanks for the tip.

Hi everyone, here is an update,
the guy from the chinese company investigated with EMS and it seems that although the tracking number is not visible, EMS has confirmed the package has passed chinese customs and is well on its way to canada. It should hit our border somewhere next week.
So, is there really a package, hard to know without a valid tracking number, but we should know soon enough. At least that rules out the possibility of him asking for more money for customs clearance.
next stop, somewhere around next wednesday,
will keep you posted.

thanks!

I always send orders to my customers by EMS. As I know, EMS is very professional. When they posted your order to you, you can get the tracking information within two days, even in the period of Spring Festival.

thanks for the reply, well, its good to know EMS is good. After a week, i still get "信息提示:No information for this tracking.". Maybe there is no package being sent, hard to know at this point. I will know next week, when the package is set to arrive in my country.
keeping fingers crossed.
