Hebei Huaxin International Trading Co Ltd
Beware this scam company in China called: Hebei Huaxin International Trading Co Ltd. They claimed to be a big company who wanted to buy thousands of pounds worth (£267,000) of product from the company I work for. It's quite a common scam I found out - which involves a 'lucurative' deal, where you are encouraged to fly to China to sign the contract, and once over there, are talked into buying lavish gifts and dinners in order to 'seal the deal'. But the payment never materialises, and you're left out of pocket.
I contacted UK trade and investment and the British / China Council and they pointed me in the right direction.
It's best not to spend any money until you have International trade references from the company. It wouldn't be a bad idea getting the company investigated - but this may cost a bit, but in the long run it could save you considerable amounts.

Thank you for your advice. My company (Importadoa Pacific Coast) was selling them mexican hats. We where in the middle of the negociation with that company. We didn't lose anything because of your information. They accepted our quotation and they wanted us to go to China to sign the contract. We were planning to go because we didn't think about it. Thank you again.

This is a very common scam in China and has been happening for a while.

Calderon,
Glad to help! They found this forum and my article, and then emailed me with threats. They said they would write on the forum that we are a fake company (which I can easily disprove), and would prosecute my company - which is laughable. I asked them five times for trade references and not once did they reply, so the alarm bells starting ringing then. I want to expose them for wasting my time and others, if I stop other companies from dealing with them I'm happy!

No I worked out it was a scam before I proceeded too far. There was no way I was flying to China without being certain. The British / China council sent me loads of common scams and it seemed to fit with one of them, so I asked them to visit us in the UK or meet halfway and predictably they started insisting I visit China.

I can't remember where I read about a business man who fell for it. They spent all his money in bars and clubs every evening and gifts. He even ran out of money and despite not being happy, still got his company to TT some more money! DOH!
