Well they are HIGHLY ILLEGAL, and if caught you go to prison for a very long time.

I really can't believe I just read that people on this forum have actually participated in these. I thought this forum was a sanctuary from scammers and theives. I guess I was wrong!
Don't under estimate the knowledge of the members of the forum, If you notice it is in the name and shame section and the title tells it's own story

Yes you are right about this forum being a sanctuary from scammers and theives, thats because the members and mods on here make it that way. Yes still people will fall for things like this, it's human nature! but the forum helps you in your decision process!

Lets treat the members with some respect and not talk to them as though you know everything hey

Oh yeah

Pyramid selling is not illegal if there is a product associated with it (say your newsletter).
That's what AmWay is, after all. The PayPal scheme sounds like a good way to get kicked
off PayPal or worse.

Yeah, PayPal clearly states in its Terms of Use that MLM, Pyramid Schemes, "Ponzi Schemes", "Get rich quick programs" and the like are all prohibited. Whether associated with an actual product or not, you're gonna get banned and possibly lose a lot your (hard-earned?) money.

Annnnnd. If the DOJ or FTC caught you gifting loads of money in a pyramid scheme and you covered it up by saying that you were selling a newsletter, then you would probably still have to argue that in court, with a lawyer.

My point is that even if it's 'technically' legal, the infamous "they" can still have you arrested and make you pay a lot legal fees to defend your innocence.

Moral of the story. - Don't get suckered by phishers.
