RD555 - Sorry to hear about your current situation! I too haven't had a good experience with him. Keep smiling, look forward and put it down to a learning experience (not a good one, I know).

You do have to have a laugh about old Jake though. That guy had more accidents, illnesses and misfortune in a few months than everyone on this forum will have in a life time. Let's face it if you are going to BS then try something a little more convincing, did any of you get the one about his landlord topping himself ? No surprise with Jake as a tenant! I do have to say though that the 'My Dads Got Cancer' is an extremely low thing to do if not true. What this topic is about is only the tip of the ice berg and I am sorry to say many more have been had over by Jake including me although in my case I am only angry with myself for trying to help someone out and getting stung for it. The problem with Jake is that he had high hopes with low intelligence!

I was the original owner of UK Trade House an online shop I had built but never used, like many here I to got involved in stocking the shop with products advertised by isydropship and initially things went very well, sales flooded in but not one order ever turned up, luckily for me I could see this coming and made Jake refund me everything before things got out of hand and managed to control the situation until everyone who had ordered was paid back but this put me 100% of drop shipping and vowed never to do it again and put the shop up for sale. Long story short, Jake wanted to buy it, I had many offers to sell else where but decided to give Jake a helping hand, you might be asking why I would seeing as there was such a fiasco before and the answer to that was Jake had blamed all the problems on his business partner and he had been pulled into the mess so against my better judgment I sold him the domain and shop in early 2009 at a lower price than I could have taken and done him a part payment deal again to help him out.

Once the shop was in Jakes hands I also built him the new isydropship.co.uk and eurodropshipper.com totally for free to again help the guy out, whilst I was doing this I had no reason to believe he was a scammer, I actually felt sorry for him with dead landlords, broken bones, typhoid and the black death to contend with but my suspicions of what he was like came home to me when the day I finished all the work on the two sites he put them up for sale, yes, he waited for me to waste many hours work building payment modules and such like for him to then put the shops up for sale and never say a word to me about it, he never even thanked me!

In true Jake style he proceeded to kill the shop I sold him by doing everything you could possibly do to ruin an online solution and when asked for the rest of the payment for the shop it was met with deaf ears and it was not until I killed the hosting and removed the shop he suddenly complained and I told him where to go, although he still got away with the domain name which was a cracker but there you go. Once I had killed the site I checked the emails left on the server and there is some uncomfortable reading in there to say the least and it seems many traders, retailers and customers have been taken by Jake!

He also ruined a superb sale I had going of top notch domain names and sites I own with some of them being very desirable, he told me he wanted to buy at the price I had been offered, he messed me around for a few weeks and then went to ground after I had told pther buyers they were sold!

It's quite hard to write this as for a time I really liked Jake but at the end of the day the guy turned out to be a bad one and for me that's a shame. I hope everyone who got ripped of by him gets there money back, I have spoken to a few who are going for him where ever he may be but for me I will just put it down to a bad experience and look after myself from now on!

uktrader - uncomfortable reading there! I too put trust in Jake and have lost out on money but again I feel it's my own fault for being too trusting and I definitely won't be going there again!!!

Would it matter that Jake is just a kid(16-17yrs ),could you still place a claim against him??
TBH,thought the mods might have something to say on this thread/matter as he was a paying advertiser on here....

Since he isn't a paid advertiser anywhere there's nothing they can really do. Plus someone said he's moved house so there isn't really a way to track him.
