JAKE BEVAN of Bournemouth has taken my money I FEEL I MUST WARN OTHER PEOPLE
The reason I am writing
Jake Bevan of Bournemouth has taken my money for goods and services, not posted the orders, and not refunded me. He owes me £412.27 from 5 months ago. I placed 117 orders over 2 weeks in May 2009. He only posted 43 of them out to customers! (and some of those orders took over 3 weeks to get there)
I feel he should be held to account, as I have been - I received negative feedback, PayPal disputes,
Amazon A-Z disputes, I had to write letters of apology to customers and submit a business plan to Amazon to reactivate my account.
I FEEL I MUST WARN OTHER PEOPLE
I have spent 6 months trying to save my reputation and get a refund:
My Story
Early March 2009
I found out from a friend of a friend about www.ISYDropship.com or www.isydropship.co.uk run by Jake Bevan of Bournemouth. It checked out on The Wholesale Forms. He had trader stars by his trader name.
I emailed a couple of times then called on the phone.
He said I could pay £200 per month and if I wasn’t happy with the prices I would get a full refund.
The prices looked great, I paid £200 and asked when I could start.
16 May 2009
Weeks passed with one excuse or another and I eventually got a login on 16 May 2009.
I traded for 1 week, selling through Amazon, placing an order every day to Jake for between £100-£200 – so about £800 in orders in total.
23 May 2009
After 1 week he said he was shutting down the site, but carrying on trading, he was keeping me and a few other premium members.
He said he was refunding his other subscribers and was having cash flow problems, and as a one time deal, he could offer me a 1 year membership at a reduced cost. It sounded good but I’d only been trading a week. I negotiated for a 6 month contract for £550 on the assurance that the orders had been fulfilled and that he had obtained proof of posting for the BluRay DVD and games sent.
I explained I was going to branch out into Ebay and Play.com and that the orders must all go out swiftly. Jake Bevan gave 100% assurance that the order fulfilment was not a problem in any way.
The following week I placed many more orders. In 2 weeks I placed orders totalling about £1500 and paid £750 in subscriptions. TOTAL SENT TO JAKE £2250
30 March 2009
That weekend I received my first negative feedback.
I immediately stopped trading and spoke to Jake.
What followed was months of
· Assurances that the orders had been sent
· Assurances that the replacement orders had been sent
· Jake saying he had no idea why so many orders had become ‘lost in the post’
· Paypal disputes
· Amazon A-Z disputes
· Negative feedback on all my trading accounts; Amazon.co.uk, Play.com and EBAY.co.uk
· 5 or 6 angry emails per day, from customers
· Daily excuses from Jake (like it’s only a little post office near me, they might be putting the parcels to one side, I’m going in to complain tomorrow????)
· Saying he posted it, saying his business partner posted it…
· Saying he had no idea what was happening
10 June 2009
I received a partial refund of £350 by PayPal transfer from eBay Hawk mabsey(at)hotmail.com sales(at)ebayhawk.com
June 2009
Jake suggested he didn’t keep a clear record of what was or wasn’t sent!!!
I couldn’t write to everyone and say “did you get your item?”, because I might have encouraged fraud (such as people saying it never arrived, and asking me to send another copy)
So I had to just sit and wait for people to get in touch………….. And they did
17 July 2009
So far out of 2 weeks of trading with Jake Bevan in March 2009
· 117 orders were placed
· 43 were actually sent (some were 2 weeks late)
· 74 orders I had to refund
Amazon has closed my account because of negatives and, I had a refund rate of 57%!!
I had to write a business plan to Amazon outlining how I am going to improve my trading, to beg them to reactivate my account
· I have paid out £85 in compensation to customers (£2, £5 and £10 payments) and written to over 100 people at least 3 or 4 times asking them to reconsider their negative feedback and apologising for late orders. Apologising that ‘although promised’ they still didn’t receive their replacement order.
· I had to buy stock myself in a retail shop to fulfil orders and therefore lose money
Every time I check my email there is an angry person or an excuse from Jake
· He has promised to pay the money he owes (£412.27) repeatedly (“it’s only a little post office near me, they might be putting the parcels to one side”) suggesting he had no idea what had happened to the orders, when he knew he hadn’t sent them!!!!!
Saying:
· Paypal are holding his cash.
· He’s borrowing it off his friend Yazz.
· I sent the money by bank transfer it must have failed (used the excuse 6 times)
· I’m getting a refund tomorrow, from some goods
· I’m putting a credit card on file.
· My business partner has the money, he’s on holiday
· I’m listing stuff on eBay, money coming soon
· You’ll get the cash Monday…..Tuesday…….Friday……….this Monday………..
What is worse is that I borrowed the money to trade, from some people I trust. They believe Jake Bevan to be “a liar and a thief” and that “he took money by deception and never sent most of the orders and used the cash to start his www.uktradehouse.co.uk website”. And to finance his trading on eBay Australia.
The people who lent me the start-up money want their money back and say ”his service wasn’t worth 50p a week let alone £50 a week”
I find it hard not to agree.
I have spent months explaining myself to Customers, Auction sites, and the people I trust that lent me money to start trading.
07 September 2009
Jake has moved house, and promised that the money would be in my account when I return from my 2 week holiday. I went on holiday for 2 weeks. On my return, I get no reply to my emails and both his mobile phones and his landline are dead.
He has wasted months of my life trying to sort this out, and still owes me £412.27
Jake took my money and spent it.

Really sorry to hear about your experience, I hope he sorts this out and gets your money back soon as.
One thing I've learned since I've joined the TWF is just how quickly a dropship company can go FUBAR for everyone involved, owner and subscriber. The amount of damage it does makes you wonder is it worth taking the chance.
Best a luck mate.

Really sorry to hear about this. I had this problem too but I was refund all of my money (it did take a few months).
Best choice is to go to petit claims court.

There are good ones out there - you should take your time when considering ANY supplier and that includes dropshippers. Reputation and commitment go hand in hand!

Re: JAKE BEVAN of Bournemouth has taken my money I FEEL I MUST WARN OTHER PEOPLE
117 orders and only 43 delivered.
That guy got everyone excited with the products he had for dropship and people (alot of people) where even at that time when the recession was in full swing prepared to pay £200 a month because it looked as though there was massive profits in it.
Theres nothing worse than waking up in a morning (if you even slept the night before for worrying) to angry customers not just from ebay but play and amazon.
I really hope you get your money back mate and sorry to hear of the troubles.

Re: JAKE BEVAN of Bournemouth has taken my money I FEEL I MUST WARN OTHER PEOPLE
RD555,
Sorry to hear about your experiences, hopefully it hasnt put you off selling and trading. As you are here now there are plenty of decent people who will be able to help you.
I know it doesnt help the unfortunate circumstances, but its a massive learning curve. From what you have said it looks like you have dealt with everything in the appropriate way, and even more. If anything, you should be congragulated on the way you have handled the situation over the past months.
I wish you the best of luck in starting over, and hope that this time it will be more rewarding for you.
Emily.

Re: JAKE BEVAN of Bournemouth has taken my money I FEEL I MUST WARN OTHER PEOPLE
This just seems ludicrous, i cannot beleive people operate like this, but the world is full of them, wannabe cowboys, who dont have the intelligence or the work ethic to become what they wannabe so they go around being dicks and ripping people off.
Learning curve, what can you learn from this, that never trust anyone, only trust in yourself, and stick two fingers up at the world. Becuase i dont see what you can learn from this.
I see too many cowboys, thinking that they are donald trump or something, when they really dont even know what a balance sheet is, let alone two plus two.

I didnt mean learning curve in a patronising way at all.
I meant that hopefully this guy can overcome the bad experience and move on in someway.
