Default http://www.pagetworld.biz Paul Paget

Hi, Has anyone had any dealings with Paul Paget at www.pagetworld.biz? I made an order at the beginning of May. He said the goods were coming from Europe not China and were available for immediate delivery. When we requested payment details he was very quick to reply with his bank details. We paid by bank transfer. He never gave an exact delivery date. Anyone know the laws about getting our money back (bank transfer)? Unfortunately since then I have had trouble contacting him and when he did contact me he made excuses about delays in delivery, supplier went to US, and other times did n't bother to reply. We have tried calling but the telephone numbers given are mailboxes that are always full. So it seems he does not even check his messages. If anyone is in the area of Port Talbot and would kindly check out this address for us it would be much appreciated.

31 Dinas Baglan Road, Port Talbot, SA12 8DT, Wales

The options we are looking at are
We have asked for a refund and he has not replied.
We have contacted the local council and trading standards office and are waiting for a reply.
Our next step depending what Trading Standards say is to report to the Police.
We are also thinking of putting up a website giving our experiences with Paul Paget and hope this stops other people from getting into the situation we are in.

Searching on the internet for him. He is on lots websites stating the following:

http://paget.en.ec21.com/company_info.html

http://vip.busytrade.com/PaulPaget

This is part of the info he gives from the website above.

"am 100% honest & genuine in everything I do so would request only genuine honest buyers or sellers contact me, and hopefully we can do lots of good honest business together. Anyone wishing to ask me any questions, please feel free to contact me. vv vv vv . pagetworld . biz"

We have just spotted this on the forum. Sorry to hear other people are having problems with Paget.

We feel the more people who go to Trading Standards and the Police the better. From our experience when a parcel went missing from a fraudulent payment to us the Police told us they would put more resources into investigating the crime when the same person's name keeps coming up on their computers.

Whether we get out refund in the end or not it is obvious that people should be very wary of dealing with Paul Paget as it does n't seem to be a good experience.

Looking at some details he appears to live there with 3 other people, going off past experiences and looking at their names he still lives with his parents and his brother.

You might want to consider someone like this http://www.ukdebtcollection.com/UK_Debt_Collection.htm and get it sent to his home address. Not to sure how it works as your the customer.

Or you could just send a letter yourself give him 7 days to pay in full otherwise you will take legal proceedings through the small claim court, make sure you send it Recorded or Special D. This may be your best option as it doesn't cost that much.

Thanks very much for your information. Are you confirming that 31 Dinas Baglan Road, Port Talbot, SA12 8DT, Wales is his address and is it just a home address or is there something to state that it is a business address like a sign outside the property?

Thanks for the added advice as still waiting for Trading Standards to come back to us. This gives us more options about what we can do to recover our money and show Paget that people will not sit back and let him get away with this.

Congratulations DSC on being Member of the Month

The information I have found comes from the web, as I live several hundred miles away so I have not seen the house.

I don't think trading standards itself can help you to reclaim your money and there are certain processes you have to do before you can begin court procedings so there is nothing stopping you from writing to him now.

Have you spoken to the bank you sent the money to?

Thanks DSC for your useful information and replies. We have only just started making enquiries as we gave him a deadline of Friday, 2nd June. Will also contact the bank to see what they can do. We would like to get our money back but we may not. We just want to make sure that no one else gets conned by him. The more people that contact Trading Standards the more they will do to look into Paget's business practices.

Not the best way forward, going visiting, Make sure you have reported to North Talbot Trading standards and keep checking on their progress. I'm sure it wont be long......
