Well done you picked up on the scam early on but would of been better to lead him on a little just for a laugh.

It wouldnt happen to be W Murphy would it? I had an almost identicle message.

To entice sellers into sending items then they either don't pay, use a fraudulent credit card or do a reversal.

yes correct I once had a guy send me a cheque for 5k when he was buying only 2k worth of stock I allowed him to ring me every day wasting his phone bills,

The cheque turned up and I put it in the bin and when he called I had a friend in the background call out the Police are at the door he hung up and never rang back lol.

I have had exactly the same message , word for word when I tried out Friday ads .I advertised 4 times and got this message or similar from 4 different names., I usually reply that I only deal face to face and in cash. they never reply.
