Default Conversation with a scammer

I have been contacted frequently by scammers as of late due to advertising on various sites. Many of the scams have the same format (relative in west africa, money order, their fedex account). This is one such scam, I thought I'd play along. A bit lengthy but if you're unfamiliar with the scam, it's worth a read. Who knows, maybe it will keep someone from getting scammed one day...

From christina_keels06@yahoo.com:
Hello, I want to know why you are selling this item and if really it is in good condition and also i will pay $590 to end the bid early bcos of my urgency.I will like to make a quick purchase on the item cos i am using it as a gift to a friends son who is out of the states,he is really going to love it.My method of payment is via online Usps Money order. If ok by you kindly get back to me with your full name and address of where you want the money order to be mailed out to so i can proceed with payment immdaitely.I will take all the shipping responsibilities and i will like the item to be shipped via my fedex account once my payment is confirmed. So you wont need to pay any shipping cost cos all the shipping cost will be billed to my account. So once the payment has been approved and you have recieved the payment confirmation,i will send you the neccessary shipping documents.plz get back to me with your full name and address so that i can proceed with the payment with your confirmed email addy.

My response:
Sounds great, let me know how to proceed.
Shawn

thanks for your reply,
Actually, i am confused presently because i have recieved
a lot of offers from different sellers having the sameitem with you which i dont
know what to do as at now. Anyway, i think i have made up my mind on dealing
with you and i will appreciate it if
we can deal on trust and transperency. I will be going to the bank to make your
payment with postal money order (United States Postal Money
Order) and as soon as my payment is approved by the bank, they will contact you
through your email address and update you on payment
status if the payment is approved or denied. I would have loved to pay with
paypal but, i cant afford to be burnt twice, visit this site and
you would understand better ( www.paypalsucks.com ). I will be paying all the
shipping cost of the item to destination which you dont have to pay a dime. I am
buying the item for my son who his celebrating is birthday in west-africa, to
this end, as soon as you have been notified by the bank that the payment as been
approved, iwill like to have the item shipped so it can get to my son on or
before 27 of June which is his birthday, cos once payment is approved,a payment
noticfication will be sent to you which will sure that your payment has been
sent to your address online. If this is okay by you, let me have your full name
and address as it will be written on the money order so that, i can proceed with
the payment immediately.
thanks a bunch

Everything sounds in order. I have the Nokia E61 Smart Phone available for sale at $430 plus shipping (which I suppose is $0 since you're using your account).

To be continued...

Sorry, but I grew tired of the conversation with this individual so I'm going to have to stop here. You can see where this goes anyway...

Send him 'something' in the post, he might as well pay for a knackered old phone or a house brick

I'll probably just wait until he gives me his fedex account so I can close that down.

Ya, I get many of them offers. My last one was a guy who lives in florida and wants me to ship the Ipod to his son in Nigeria. I said I will just ship to him in Florida and he can send it to his son. He then said he is traveling salesman and is not home much. I said sure, just send me USD cash and I will send the Ipod to the moon if he wants. Of course he did not respond. What a bunch of pinheads..

LOL... I've heard the "ship to my son in Negeria" scam before. I saw it on an auction website where the buyer asked the seller "I live in the UK but I need the product shipped to my son in Nigeria".
