Exclamation PS3 Power Put Right

PS3 will run on any power supply as long as at the end of the wire the is a 3 pin IEC plug (this is the end that goes into the back of the PS3)

See here for 3 pin IEC - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IEC60320_C13.jpg

The power supply is built into the console and a standard 3-pin IEC Connecter is present at the base of the console. All current PS3 power supplies are Universal 100V-240V/50-60 Hz and will work worldwide, external power markings only relate to the intended market area.

So any PS3 console will run in the UK as long as you have the 3 pin IEC with a 3 pin UK plug on the end. (You use these to plug you PC tower in etc....) See here : http://www.eazi.it/product_info.php?...ts_id=24142110

So what ever console you go for any will work in the UK in terms of power.

As far a region coding goes.

All PS3 consoles are REGION FREE for playing GAMES.

The Jap and HK PS3 are both A1 region for Blu Ray Discs along with the USA.

However the HK PS3 is REGION 3 for DVDs and the Jap. is REGION 2 but neither will work with UK DVDs as the UK is Region 2 PAL and the Jap. is Region 2 NTSC.

So basically any PS3 will be good enough for the UK until the UK PS3 is released!

Hope this clears a few things up

also like to add that if it works with a pc tower lead then it will also work with a kettle lead! which is the same type(depending on your kettle)

Great, Thanks for clearing it up, although, I have heard from the 'Undergroud' that illegal firmware updates are being made to make your console region free!

I thought that most new TVs can play both NTSC and PAL?
