Default PayPal Masspay Guide

Hi,
Well I decided to make a short and simple guide on what and how to use PayPal Masspay. This can be made into a sticky if needed.

What is PayPal Masspay?
PayPal Masspay is a simple tool used to send large amounts of cash to any PayPal Member. This tool is intended to be used for things like:
  • Affiliate commissions
  • Customer rebates
  • Pay-to-surf rewards
  • Employee benefits
  • Lottery prizes
  • Survey incentives
Whats so special about Masspay?
The reason why so many Wholesalers/Dropshippers use Masspay is because when sending payments the payment sender gets charged 65p for any amount transaction which is made whilst the recipient doesn't get charged a penny.

Is Masspay safe?
My advice to you is that when making a Masspay Payment to someone make sure you know the recipient is reliable and trustworthy. Masspay Payments can not be cancelled and there is no way of getting your money back.

How to use?
For you to use PayPal Masspay you must have the following:
  • A PayPal Premier or Business Account
  • A spreadsheet software
  • Money ready in your PayPal Account

Once you have those ready follow these instructions:
Open your spreadsheet software
When the programme is open you'll find these little boxes set out on the page. These are called "cells"

In the first cell (A1), you type in the email that you want to send the payment to
In the second cell (B1) you type in the amount you want to send (example 12.00)
In the third cell (C1) you type in the currency. A list of accepted currencies are on this page:
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/we...-works-outside

In the fourth cell (D1) you can type in any comment you like. Once you have done that, go to "File" and then "Save As" and where it says "File Type" you chose "tab-delimited file"

Pros
  • Small Fee
  • Saves money

Cons
  • You must upgrade to either a Premier or Business Account
  • Time consuming
  • Hard to set up
  • Requires experience in spreadsheet software
  • No protection for the buyer
Hope this guide helps.

Nice guide Saajan, and as you have said, make sure the person you are sending the money to is reliable!

If only we had the reputation system, you would have a point now

Nice guide, i was wondering how this worked.

For those of you who do not have spreadsheet software you can either get Microsoft office for mega£££ or try Open office which is free and contains there version of word, excel (spreadsheets) and so on. It opens most MS Office documents.

Google = open office - and its the top link.

Default Problem

I'm having trouble using Masspay at the moment. I have more than enough funds to make the payment but am getting this error message:

This mass payment cannot be processed because it exceeds your available balance. To raise your balance, you must add funds to your account from your bank account or convert funds from other holdings.

I am making the payment in GBP and my account is in Euro. If I send it in Euro is it expensive for receiver to change to GBP? Why do you think I am getting this message?
