I come from china and work as a foreign trade with several friends,We ensure we are sincerelly do our business.I can sure also many supplier is true in our country. I think If one company have a good english version website, as well as good product information, firm address I sure it is true. You guys konw that not many peaple in china are good at english,it isn't necessary for them to take this risk because they have more chance to make the money.for the simple scammer,I think you can identify them immediately.For the big business scammer,It seldom happend and not for the dripshipment goods.I suggest you must have a visit to the company for a mass order.
Yes, for big orders, an on-site auditing and QC inspection is a must in China. Also do not forget to sign a formal contract in China before payment!

Great information, many thanks. Still a problem for us small guys, just starting out, who cannot visit the suppliers in China. Is it correct that Chinese suppliers cannot supply branded goods eg Ipods, game consoles etc.
