Hey, about that tag below,

"
100% coton
100% cotton
100% baumwolle
100% Katoen
100% cotone
100% algodao
100% algodon "

* Saw China fakes for $12pc with this tag along with devanlay tag with proper alignment and gator.
Their Called grade A fakes, Only thing you could tell by is the color code on the price tag. It was a black polo but had a price tag color code for a red one. You really got to look deep into this before you even think to purchase. Don't sell fakes they'll just get ya in trouble.

pretty good article mate but you are wrong on the buttons part, i have many authentic lacoste polo's all bought from lacoste stockists or lacoste shops, and all my shirts have lacoste on the buttons, this is a very good way of telling a genuine shirt, as it is difficult for the fakers to get hold of these buttons, but i agree 100% that all the crap fakes on the market are spoiling it for honest people.... cheers davey

Good article but the only piece you really need take note of is

'My only advice for wholesalers is to buy from registered Lacoste distributors'

These days the jeckyls are a lot more sophisticated. If you want to waste your time forensically checking out every piece of gear you intend to buy then fine. You will still never be 100% certain and you can just live everyday worrying about your good name you have taken a lot of time and hard work to build, being destroyed by one irate customer.

I remember the days when you could tell from accross the road if the guy you saw wearing a nice polo was snide or not. My mate used to have one of those Ralph Lauren golf jackets bought from one of Cheetham Hills finest in the early 90s, the embroidery looked like a golfer on a camel. Lessons on both sides will have been learned since then and technology moves fast enough these days to keep within a whisker of the real deal.
