Hey,
I thought I could create a thread to explain how the reputation system works.

Why should I leave some reputation points to members??

If you read a thread, and you think it was useful for you, then you can leave some points to this member to show that he's a great member who's trying to help other members.

So how I do this??

Above each username, you can find a scale. Click on this icon to leave some reputation. It can be positive or negative points depending on the post.

Unfortunately, new members won't be able to leave reputations points (which counts) before having a certain amount of reputation points yourself.

According to Anthony, you cannot give reputation (which counts) until you have a decent amount of reputation yourself to give. I have tons of rep that doesn't count (grey color on profile) due to it being added by members with little or no rep .

Sorry guys.. been stacked up today..

Bascially..

If a member (new or old) with no reputation "power" (by power they must have "some" reputation themselves before giving it to others. So in effect, it takes people with current rep to add it to others that don't. Thats what the grey bar indicates.

It was left by a member with no "reputation power" then it doesn't count towards your rep.
