A tip:
for any wholesaler in all over the worl, l look at this page: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/lin...tion.shtml#reg
After that, I check the registered companies in the country where the wholesaler said me he's located.
Otherwise, I check on the http://www.dnb.com/us/ or other credit agency (ICP report, CRIBIS Corporation, ASIAN COMPANY PROFILES LTD, etc...)
I hope this will help you.

you have to remember that some so called wholesalers are only brokers. in that case, you might not find any information about them on that site.
the site that you've mentioned, isnt that site only for UK companies; not for wholesalers all over the world?

Et voilà le link. Type the company name or the number.
After that, you could also check your document as tax return and director appointement.
Bye and good business.

Of course, for the UK companies. For other country, you have to search from the links above

Here's a nice site that has links to US state business filings databases
http://www.llrx.com/columns/roundup29.htm
I find it a nice place to start...but just cause it's not there doesn't mean it's a scam (although you should find out what's going on) and just because it's there doesn't mean it's 100% legit..just means it's registered

One other thing. Payment options. If a supplier only offers T/T, Western Union, or some other form of non-secure payment option, chances rise that they are not on the up and up. Most legit suppliers, in the US anyway, offer some form of secure payment method such as CC, escrow, or Paypal.
