These from a microsoft authorised source? as I know knock off are available now which also pass microsoft updates and have valid coa. I bought one a couple of months back purely to test and it did pass, as I buy a lot of software so it was a lesson to see what to look out for, the amzing thing was it had all the genuine microsoft security features on disc including the 3D hologram, and I bet most software being sold on ebay is counterfiet as some of the prices are just unbelievable. anyways back to point.

Would you do a bulk discount for 20 units? i'm looking around £35

These are Dell OEM discs with COA. Many IT deployers have access to hundreds of these as preloaded XP OEM systems (when installed on that OEM system via BIOS check) require no activation nor do they need the COA like retail copies of XP. Therefore, the COA appears "new" and never activated. Just know that you won't receive the shiny holographic CD/DVD that retail users receive; these will be a solid color (green, purple, blue, etc). Read up on the Microsoft user agreement before buying/selling such OEM COA products.

Anytime a product is branded with a manufacturer, it's considered OEM. Whether it's Dell, Gateway, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, etc...it's OEM software. In this case, it's Dell OEM software.

The disk will have Dell written on it; this is the case whether the software is Microsoft Windows XP or Cyberlink PowerDVD. In addition, the COA will only work on OEM editions and not with retail editions.

I have been selling these for months and they work perfectly...

In fact I have just installed it on my MacBook and had no problems at all with installing as you would expect from a MS CD...

Excellent margin opportunity and as a result I have another 1k landing with us end of the week.

Steve

I work in IT and selling OEM's without the appropriate hardware is a no no. They should only be installed on a same branded machine. I have literally hundreds of Fujitsu and dell OEM OS and versions of Office.

I put some on Ebay a few years ago as I thought I was sitting on an absouloute gold mine as they all just get shoved in a box. They got pulled and as I had five on sale on bye bye account

You should be careful selling these

OEM software needs to be accompanied with a piece of hardware.

OEM software packages are availible to be sold separately because i brought a oem copy for vista and xp from microdirect and also ebuyer.com. There are basically 2 types of OEM availible. The first is when a pre-built computer is purchased, there is an OEM disk that comes with the system, which can not be transferred to another one, because that disk is designed to run only with the specific system components. The second type of OEM operating system is one that can be transferred to any other system, without the dependence on the components.

So as long as its the second type of OEM is fine to sell them on i know this because ive built quite a few computers using oem software.

Hope This Helps.

Thanks
