In this case it's 50mW = 50 milliwatts. A 50 Megawatt laser would be extremly powerfull.

In short, 50mW are quite poweful, they're able to cut trough (light) plastic with a lens.
What you see is a green beem, however there's an invisible wide IR beam too. Which can damage your eyes without you being able to notice it. Laser without IR-filters should be used with special protective eye glasses. Laser with IR-filter can be used without

I saw some of these in Turkey when on holiday. Absolutely amazing range. Not sure if these are the same models and I think the lasers sold in turkey are illegal in the UK, but you could see the green beam through the air for miles
