In dropshipping jewellery importing to the UK you not only have the problems of HMRC putting on a customs charge but if the items over the exempt weight do not bear an acceptable hallmark they are illegal in the UK and you put yourself and your customers at risk for legal action.
I couldn't say how often this happens but it's worth thinking about if you wish to import precious metals.
