A RIGHT RIP OFF

Check with your local trading standards officer, the Select have been reported a few times and some people have had their money back.

Hi andy andy 11 this is an email a guy sent to the select he got his money back might help you
Hi Ben Fountain,

This is Bhavick emailing you. We have been speaking today regarding the select and the service it’s offering consumers. When I rang you today I had many disagreements with the way the select works and I also wanted a refund of my money. My father is currently a member of your company but he left it up to me to use your service and to sell your products. We currently have a silver package with you. You then told me to write an email to you with my disagreements and grievances with your company and its services. You said you would review my email and reply back and then refund my money that I paid for a silver package.

Here are my points of disagreements/grievances:

• When I signed up to your company for a silver package, I wasn’t informed anywhere about the way your system works. I didn’t know about the ‘Available ‘Products which are products you do actually have in stock and the ‘Reserve Products’ which a certain amount of orders have to be fulfilled first. Once those certain amounts of orders are fulfilled, you then get that stock in of that particular product and ship it out to your customers. I have lost so many valuable customers on ebay because you cannot supply my customers with the products am selling. I don’t whether this is stated in your companies ‘Terms and Conditions’ This now brings me on to my next point.

• There seems to be an awful lot of valuable information in your companies ‘Terms and Conditions’ manual that tells the customer how your business works but I didn’t even see it on your website. Usually when I sign up to a website which is offering a service that I am going to use the ‘Terms and Conditions is on the sign up page which is clearly presented to you. In your case the ‘Terms and Conditions’ manual is at the bottom right hand of the home page. I believe that this manual should be presented more clearly to the customer instead of the customer having to find the manual on your website. Its’ almost as if it is up to the consumer to read the small print. It’s your company so it’s your responsibility that people can clearly see and read your companies ‘Terms and Conditions’

• The select gives misleading information on the website. It says on your website ‘No risk, sell before you buy’ That is a false statement because if you relate that to the ‘Reserve Products’ If I sell a product from your ‘Reserve Products’ I am going to have to wait for your company to let that minimum order be met first before that particular item gets sent out to my customers. So No risk, sell before you buy’ is false because your company doesn’t have that product itself. I am still waiting for your company to buy that product from your supplier. I suggest you make comments like that more clear!

They are all my points so far Ben. Please review all the points and get back to me as soon as possible to let me know when you are going to refund my money. I will make this email and all emails to come from me to you public all over the internet so people can read it. As I have said on the phone am not just doing this to get my money refunded but all the other people that feel coned out of money and the fact your company doesn’t give refunds back. I know you said on the phone that you are working with your staff to fix these problems, especially refunding consumers money back to them along with the points I have made above. This is not a threat this is just the facts. If I see nothing done about these problems I will file a legal lawsuit against you. I have the right to disclose what I am going to do at the moment but I will take legal action against your company if these problems are not sorted out.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Many Thanks

Bhavick Patel

He still had the nerve to email back saying that my points were opinionated and not really cut and dry points. But then again i can't blame him for trying to back his company up after all he is the mananger of it . So to all the members of the select that want your money back all you need to do is ring the select and explain your disagreements/grievances. He will then tell you to do the same thing i did which was email your points accross. He will then email back and you should get your money back just as i have. Remember don't take any crap on the phone because he always trys to reassure you that the select is successful on the phone but don't take any of it. Just be clear to him that you are not happy with the service and want your money back. Another tactic of his, he likes to go off the point at hand alot lol. Remeber what ever you are not happy about with the select and then reason you want your money back just put it all in your email. Take a look at mine for reference. So it seems we have won the battle as consumers and we will get our money back from con artists

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Thumbs down

just had a email back from them

Hi Mr Martin,

Thanks for your email.

Sorry for the delay, I have been on holiday.

I have now reviewed your letter and your points that you have raised in your email and I am sorry but I am going to be unable to meet your request for a refund. To assist further I have listed a reply to each of the concerns you have raised which I hope will resolve for you.

1)Stock System:

Available Stock:

This is stock that we have in our warehouse when ordering from available you will never have a problem with items being out of stock and you can sell with confidence and if ordered before 14:00 we can ship to your customer so they receive the next day. We also have colour coded the quantities so you know how long stock will last so you can list with confidence that the stock will be available. We suggest all our agents use this section when selling.

Reserved Stock:

This area shows stock that has sold out and that will be coming back into available stock. Our agents use this area to advise us of what demand there is for this product. When the item has reached the minimum order level, for example 12/12 we then know that our agents need this item back in stock sooner so we then invoice the agents that have requested and order in a shipment larger than what is needed by our agents.

2)Terms and Conditions:

These are available to both potential and existing agents and we have made this available to both so we can be as transparent as possible, our business is all about offering the very highest of standards and services to every one who contacts our company.

3)Sell before you buy:

This is the service we provide however we offer our agents options and information and this way if an agent wants to order a large quantity of an item that is currently sold out then they are able to. The reserved system is a fantastic tool and assists our agents and ourselves as we then know what products are popular and the existing demand for each product.

The Select thank you for taking the time to email your concerns and points to us and we have taken you views onboard.

Kind regards

Thank you for you emails but still no refund from you on my gold package with you that cost me £99.00 and I would like a full refund of this money from you as I am not happy with the service that you other me as a customer.

Angry WWW.TheSelect.com

STAY WELL AWAY FROM WWW.THESELECT.CO.UK

I wish I'd found this site before I wasted my money on an account with "TheSelect". What a waste of time!
By the time the extortionate postage charges have been added to the cost of the item, plus any ebay/paypal charges etc, you have got absolutely no chance of making any profit. I can't even make enough to cover the 50 quid I payed for the account. These guys take advantage of new traders gullibility and/or lack of knowledge and experience.

Having a Silver or Gold account makes no difference either, on the majority of items the difference is a few pence or maybe a quid if you're lucky.

How can it be classified as b2b if they have retail prices? They even clasify themselves as retailers!
