Dropshippers
Ive had a bit of experience with dropshippers before and every one that i have dealt with have not got good reviews at all!. Just wondering if anyone knew any good dropshippers that actually have competitive prices!.

For what it's worth, price seems to be the stumbling block with most specialist dropshippers. The service I've read about on here so far, on average, looks to be pretty good. You can do better elsewhere, still dropshipping or similar, just not using those suppliers. Read around this section and the supplier discussion section to get some ideas and advice.
It's still worth signing up with those that don't charge a joining fee, though. Then you can take advantage of their special offers, or stuff that you don't really expect to sell but you have it available for eye-candy and padding on your site.

Contact the manufacturers of the products you wish to sell. Many times they will dropship for you for no fee or a small additional charge.

That sounds great! but id imagine that is easier said than done? What sorts of products sell best? id imagine electrical devices are too saturated now a days (but i might be wrong!)

In my humble opinion, it's not really about how saturated or not a sector is. It's more about what to sell which you can build up a rapport with your site visitors about.
So, if you know all about, say, cane furniture, you'll have a better idea about what to sell and how to answer queries about the products, rather than just comparing prices.
If you know nothing about the products, it's not life-threatening but you're starting at less of an advantage. You have to do more research among all those far too many manufacturers and items within that product range to choose which to narrow down to, and which suppliers of them to try out from all those thousands and thousands ready to take your money.
Also, from the supply side, it's far easier to know what to ask the wholesalers in order to satisfy yourself you are going to receive the genuine article, or a least an article, for you money.
Easier said than done? Only in that some will say no. But others will say yes and you get better prices, so it's worth the extra effort.
But look for other ways of getting supplies without having to hold stocks, too. They do exist and there are threads around here to give you ideas.

I understand what you mean now. Like you say you if you know the product base then you will know the average prices they go for. I do have a wide knowledge of computers and laptops aswell as the software and components to go with them. Also i always go to my local electrical store and check out the prices of LCD televisions aswell so anything like that i will be most familiar with.

OK, so which of these, if not all, would you feel you would like to start off with? Do you have local wholesalers you can deal with for these goods? Any other ideas for suppliers? Which sales outlet(s) are you intending to use - eBay, own web site, someone else's web site, shop or trading estate unit, if shop, high street or side street? You know the sort of questions to ask yourself.
Where are you based, Simmondsp? I'm in a start up situation myself. There is a 50+% overlap between what I am setting up and the interests you have expressed. There is probably some scope for helping each other out to mutual advantage.
If we can keep this thread going long enough, you can make another 7 posts and will be able to PM me
Seriously, though, this community will be able to help and guide you. Just tell where you want to start. If dropshipping, quantities are obvious. If not, tell us how many and of what. Equally important, where do you intend to sell and, if it's not obvious (e.g. own web site or shop), what is your target market, e.g. well heeled and discerning, well heeled and stupid, poor and impoverished lowest price only, tight fisted and knowledgeable lowest price only, and so forth.

The concept is good if like you say you can dropship them cheaper than uk suppliers already. All im thinking is for the amount of profit i will be making on them once i have advertised the site would it be worthwhile? if it is im more than happy to look further into this with you. What i will do is a bit of research on these types of tee shirts. see what peoples opinions are in the UK and see whether they are positive or negative views.
