None of the warehouses that do my dropshipping class themselves as "dropshippers". The items that they sell are not in the realm of popular products like iPods but they ARE items that everyone needs and few can get at wholesale prices. Because my overheads are virtually zero, I can pitch these products slightly below normal retail price and make a good profit for very little work. I simply pass the orders on to the relevant warehouse. They send out the goods and bill me after 30 days. Meanwhile, I've got the full payment from the customer in my bank!

I also make good money from repairs. I'm not going to tell you what I sell but pretend that it's iPods. The way it would work is that I advertise exchange iPods for £50. You pay me £100, I send you a refurbished iPod and, when I receive your old iPod back in repairable condition, I refund £50.

I send your broken iPod to a reliable guy who repairs hundreds a week at minimal cost. I make about £30 profit on every one sold.

I repeat that I do NOT handle competitive items such as iPods. That's just an example to show you how profit can be made for very little work.

First dexter, I don't believe you are supposed to be posting affiliate links. Doing so greatly diminishes your supposed objectivity. The fact that you are new here does not reinforce your position, either. Glad to have you, and please join in, but backing up your statements with some facts or examples helps make your case.

Chris (the owner of that site) and I cross paths around the net and he has his product and opinion to sell. Good guy, probably truly believes.

But I can tell you for a fact there are hundreds, even thousands of truly fine, reputable companies who dropship on a daily basis, usually at no additional cost than selling at their normal wholesale prices.

I have bought from one major dropshipper who has some exclusive products made and imports all of their goods just for dropshipping. There are other internationally known companies who will dropship for their accounts at the same price they normally charge. I sell for several manufacturers who always dropship for me, some of whom I've never bought from for my own use or had shipped to me for resale.

So, you are wrong when you say MOST are middlemen.

What is true there are hundreds of middlemen claiming to be dropshippers on the Internet, preying on those who will join. But they are the actual exception, not the rule. They just know SEO and have slicker websites than the true established dropshippers.

So, while you won't recommend dropshipping, there are many who will. And in more than one case, the site owner Chris has agreed that rather than use google looking for dropshippers, those who join the membership site I promote have a much better chance of finding legitimate sources.

Like him, I am also interested in protecting the newbie. I just think they can make some money through dropshipping, where he promotes buying direct all the time. Nice if you have the capital, and storage space, but impractical for someone in an apartment or flat.
