Why do dropshippers need to hide their prices?
Hi,
Can anyone explain to me why you need to register on sites before you can see the prices availlable to you.
Surely if they are providing products at reaonable prices it would be in their interest to show you the prices the stock is available to you for to enable you to make an informed decision. Some sites I have visited even expect you to pay before you see the prices, isn't this like buying a product without knowing what you are getting?
Am I missing something here or do they just wish to build their mailing lists for future promotions? I am sure there are members on here that run droppshipping sites, would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Personally I would never pay for anything without having enough information to enable me to make an informed decision.
Thanks
Anton

As you might know dropshippers hardly get any profits from their sales and since most of them have a sign up fee, that's where they normally cover the costs.
If they showed their pricing before you had to pay the sign up fee, many people would compare the pricing to other dropshippers and see which one offers the best pricing and from there, they can point out which dropshipper offers the space for more profits. By not showing the pricing, people would pay the sign up fee and from there either use the dropshipper or simply just scrap them.

Well not exactly to hide something but dropshippers might fear that their pricing doesn't meet people's expectations.

As pablow123 suggests, simply do not sign up, and guess what, they will show the prices if people refuse to sign up under such terms.
Ask yourself, would you go and buy a TV from a store without knowing the price first??

Dropshippers make their profits only off the sign-up fee pretty much. They hid the prices so you would be curious to pay the sign up fee. I personally stay away from any one unit dropshipping sites since the margin is impossible to profit off.

Dropshippers rely on your sign up fee. Thereafter they do not care if you buy from them as they have made their money. Who even knows if they even have any products?
