Hi again.
Questions just popup and this forum is great for answers
I need to know how this works.
Here in portugal we have our personal tax id number and companies have theirs.
Pernoal numbers start with a 2 and companies with a 5.
Now let's see this:
I'm in portugal(could be uk or us) have a french store (cest la vie.com, or whatever).
I also have a french dropshipper to supply my french clients.
How do you guys do it? Do i have to register a company in order to send the invoice to my clients?
Can i do it with my personal tax number?
How do this works?
thanks

As far as I'm concerned, and from what I've bought elsewhere, it never comes up.

Seldom do I get an invoice. Usually a PayPal receipt is the main thing. Some sites let me print an invoice if I want, but I never bother, if I get something from PayPal. Never an mention of a tax number, but there may be an EU law.

I've sold hundreds of thousands of dollars on line and never used any invoice beside the generic one sent by the shopping cart.

Great, that's what i wanted to ear

Now how do you declare your income at the end of the year.
Do you collect the invoices from the shopping cart and that's the proof of income?

Actually, I use QuickBooks and record all sales and payments, using whatever I happen to receive.

I get some payments through a regular merchant account, many through PayPal, some from Moneybookers and similar "second tier" processors.

Also some mailed checks from affiliate programs.

I'm sure others do differently. I have a lot of subscriptions through PayPal and the merchant account, I've got to stay on top of things and have info at my fingertips, so I enter everything at least once a week. I do bunch up the WL101 subscriptions, but all other transactions are by name and address.
