that charges sheet was very useful. so i would be right in saying for example if i buy a toy i could have to pay between 15% and 19.7 % overall?
what happens if the items are going straight to the customer? would i have to get the items sent to me first?

That is why dropshipping straight from China is difficult, your customer would have to pay these charges.
Try using a UK dropshipper.

I use both Focal Price and Deal Extreme for personal use and for dropshipping.

I dropship about 10 items per day from DX and a little less from Focal Price. Never had a problem yet, been doing this for about 6 weeks or so.

Focal Price are much quicker at despatch then DX, you usually get your item in 7-10 days with Focal Price, whereas DX are more like 10-21 days.

I would use Focal Price more but they do not stock the variety of products that DX do.

I have never been hit for customs, my largest order was just over £80.

The thing I like about their dropship service is you can list your eBay items and sell them worldwide as these two sites deliver anywhere in the world, so you open your marketing options more when selling on eBay. I get orders from all over the world every day of the week.

I had one item not working from DX and they just sent another one out, never asked me to send it back or anything. Mind you it was only worth £3 or so.

When dropshipping just let your customers know on the auction that they will be held responsible for any customs charges, but because most items are cheap as chips they will never get held by customs anyway or charged any extra on duty.

Good luck when Customs catch up with you.

For certain products, in some respects, dropshipping direct from China is a more reliable and cost effective way to dropship instead of buying in wholesale and dropshipping from a domestic location.

Here are the main reasons:

1. Sending 1 product most often has no comstoms issues since the volume is too small for anyone to bother with if it's a potentially sensitive product.

2. Because of efficient freight solutions from China, shipping directly to the customer avoids having to pay two shipping charges (China to Reseller, Reseller to End Customer).

3. Small value shipments (under $200) are exempt from tax in the US. In the UK tax won't get levied unless it's over a certain amount (I'm not sure of the exact figure).

On the flipside shipping from a domestic location provides quicker delivery times.

Regards,
Ben
