Have to agree with Pete (as usual - its a common occurence). Hardwareheroes has truly NEVER been busier. Its not down to new members joining and swelling the numbers, although that constant refresh does make a difference. No, there are a good number of customers who order in excess of 5 items every day of the week and a smaller number who do in excess of ten orders per day. I think many of them have their own websites rather than relying on ebay and amazon etc. It is always going to be difficult to appeal to that market when there are traders on ebay who buy in bulk the same as we do, and certainly in a few cases, buy in even larger amounts.
One thing I do have to say (for my part anyway - can't speak for anyone else) is that heroes is a young business with approximately a £20K investment in stock at any given time, either on the virtual shelf or in transit from China.
The margins I have set not only allow me to provide an excellent service to the clients such as yourself but, also to increase the product lines gradually every month. There hasn't been a month gone by without heroes adding a new product line or two which, in itself, represents a significant investment.
Small margins are fine for a short while but there are not many businesses who can survive by cutting their throats every day. I am building for the future and hopefully you can come along for the ride - the bigger my business gets, the more discounts I will earn from suppliers and the less cost to the end purhaser.
Pete is the real inspiration behind dropshipping on this forum. IMHO Adam and Tom with DTG did a fine job following in his footsteps. I bring nothing new to the table other than a dedication to get those parcels out to your customers as quickly as if you had the stock yourself. One thing always impresses customers long after the price has been forgotten - quality of service and efficient turnaround of orders!
